BASEBALL:  

On August 12, 2019, a church mission team from the USA traveled to Zambia to help launch a brand-new baseball program for the children of Precision Sports Academy (PSA) — and the trip was a huge success! 🇺🇸💪🏿

Our kids were thrilled to learn a new sport and embraced baseball with excitement and dedication. The mission team provided not only coaching and gear but also encouragement and mentorship that left a lasting impact on everyone involved.

This initiative demonstrated the power of sports-based mission trips and cultural exchange. At PSA, we welcome short-term mission teams to come and serve through coaching, teaching life skills, sharing faith, or leading educational and wellness workshops.

Our senior boys' soccer team continues to gain visibility through participation in the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) League. Their dedication is building strength not only physically, but also mentally and socially — preparing them to excel on and off the pitch.

This hard work has paid off in remarkable ways.

Three of our standout players — Gloire Kubuntu, Kalebo Uwimbabazi, and Vickson Mwale — began their journeys at PSA and have since received international scholarships to study and play soccer in Sweden and Malaysia. They’ve adapted incredibly well and continue to make PSA proud.

These boys are proof that talent, discipline, and opportunity can open global doors — and their stories inspire our younger athletes every day.

Gloire is currently studying and playing for Piteå IF, a Division 2 club in Sweden. He began as a midfielder on the youth team and has since been promoted to the senior squad — now playing as a striker. His transition has been seamless, and he’s become a key player in the lineup.

Kalebo is a standout in the Öjebyn IF under-16 team. He quickly become a local hero in the city of Piteå. In 2018, he was voted Best Player in the U-16 League, and he currently represents Piteå in the national league. With 23 goals in just 14 matches, Kalebo earned the nickname:

“The Scoring Machine.”
 

Vickson’s move to Malaysia allowed him to pursue both academics and sport. He’s made a smooth transition and represents the excellence and resilience that PSA instills in its students.
